Transpicuous Architecture

Transpicuous architecture language provides the starting point to create transparent and crystalline architecture expression of the refugees’ student community. The intention of creating public awareness through the transpicuous architecture elements will bring together different parties to help this community in need of education, jobs and moral support. The building will explore these elements; connectivity, rhythm and transparency; that helps the society (public people) to understand the community in need (refugees students) which will be reflected in the key aspect of the building.

Thus, this gives rise to the question, “In what way architectural linkages help the marginalised community through city development using transpicuous elements?” Hence, it raises the theory of building thoroughfare, when a building complex cannot be completely served by outdoor pedestrian streets, hence indoor streets or ramp is needed to provide that connectivity to the future LRT station and commercial area.

The fabric of the transpicuous architecture language creates a large atrium space that connects the people in the building while reflecting the theory of wings of light; an open atrium with green balcony is design to connect between floors and allow natural lighting to penetrate the classroom or space for the people. The ‘zen view’ also directly stares into the distance of Klang City and existing temple beside the site without overwhelm it.

The architecture expression allows the harmony between the site, building and space. Moreover, the ideology of roof garden plays an important role to make use of flat roof surface to have an activity area ranging from private to public space. It gives an opportunity for people to interact more personally towards nature with roof gardens where care is more needed in such places (Alexander, 1977, p. 576-578).  Hence, it allows the student and society to interact among each other while located in a high place, of the building that oversees the surrounding site context. Thus, the connection between the refugees students, public people, nature and site are reflected through the elements. In conclusion, the harmony between the nature and people are important towards an urban design development in which creates strong and powerful connections.
